When I started blogging back in 2016 I never thought it would lead to a passion, to a way of being, to new opportunities, to new friends and so much more. I didn’t even know what blogging really meant. I’ve loved reading and found comfort in books since I was young. As I grew up I wanted to shares the stories I read with everyone I meet mostly my friends. In 2015 I was introduced to the world of book clubs which led to the creation of Nkundagusoma BookClub. In 2016, a friend introduced me to the world of bloggers. She said if I want to share my views on books, I better create a blog and write them there. Here I am, five years later, writing about thoughts I gather from everything I read. It has been an amazing journey.
This June, I’m participating in the Afro bloggers’ challenge Winter ABC. I’ve excitedly waited for this challenge to come for it will help me and fellow bloggers to level up ourselves. For me particularly it will require so much consistency, commitment, and hard work than I ever had which I really need.
Being a creative is not easy. Pouring your soul out is not cool. Some thoughts and ideas are too fragile to handle. But I urge all creative people out there to never cease doing the good work. Your ideas matter. Your art matter. Your stories matter. Your thoughts matter. Someone out there smiles because of you. This week I’m celebrating you.
This June, I will write on many topics as the challenge goes by. I hope that by the end we will have learned from each other and grown up tremendously. Let the fun begin.
