The other day while busy at work, I had my headphones on listening to Israel Mbonyi’s Tugumane. He starts off by saying there will be mountains that won’t be moved and there will be rivers that won’t be crossed. Then he goes on to sing, in the chorus, if I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass by. I was like woow. It was my first time hearing it, yet it felt like a message meant just for me. Mbonyi has this way of singing that lifts you, places you among angels, and makes you feel as though you are sitting in God’s presence, having an intimate conversation.. So while I was listening to that song, I don’t know where tears came from and I excused myself to go wipe them.

In Genesis 18, Abraham encounters three visitors, who are later revealed to be the Lord and two angels. The Lord appears to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre, and Abraham eagerly offers them hospitality. During the visit, one of the visitors promises that Sarah, Abraham’s wife, will bear a son within a year, despite her old age. Overhearing this, Sarah laughs in disbelief, but the Lord reassures them that nothing is too difficult for Him.

But guess what he told the men when they appeared at the gate? 'He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my Lord, do not pass your servant by. ‘. Then Mbonyi takes on that and says,

Si buri sengesho, rizasubizwa uko nsaba

Si buri ndirimbo, izanduhur'umutima

Ndagufite mfit'umurengezi

Unyereke imigambi yawe, nkumenye

Niba nkugiriyeho umugisha, unyibuke

While thinking about a new blog post for today, I thought about making a review of a book I just finished. But this song kept on playing in my mind that I felt it best to share this feeling with you. So that being said, I pray that God’s favor surrounds you this week, that His mercy finds you in every moment. May He turn your silent cries into tears of joy, reminding you that He sees, He hears, and He cares.
