Finding Strength and Peace in God's Word: A Reflection

As I wrote down my personal goals for the new year, one stood out among the many and that is to grow closer to God. In the past months I’ve been trying all ways to achieve this and one that has helped me so far is read daily bible verses with the assistance of Youversion Bible App. 

For accountability to never miss it, I’ve made it a personal assignment to share the bible verses on my socials everyday and write what I learned from them at the end of the week. Today I thought it best to share these Bible lessons with you as well.


In a world that often feels chaotic and challenging, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. However, God’s Word offers a beacon of hope and a source of strength, guiding us through every circumstance. Today, I want to reflect on a few Bible verses I read from October 21-26, 2024,  that reveal a powerful message about faith, love, and the presence of God in our lives.


1. Loving Even in Difficult Times  

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (Luke 6:28)  

It can be difficult to respond with kindness to those who hurt us, yet Jesus teaches us to bless and pray for them. This act of love is not just for their sake, but for ours. It frees our hearts from bitterness and allows God’s grace to flow through us.


2. Trusting in God’s Strength  

“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” (Psalms 59:16)  

When the storms of life come, we can find comfort in knowing that God is our fortress. He provides strength when we are weak, and His love is our refuge. Singing of His strength reminds us that no problem is too big for Him to handle.


3. Being Joyful, Patient, and Prayerful  

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12)  

Life can be full of ups and downs, but this verse encourages us to remain steadfast. In moments of hope, we are called to rejoice. When facing difficulties, patience becomes our anchor. And through every season, we are to remain faithful in prayer, trusting that God hears and responds.


4. Knowing God Dwells Within Us  

“If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.” (1 John 4:15)  

Our relationship with God is not distant; it is deeply personal. When we acknowledge Jesus, we open our hearts to His presence. God lives in us, and we are embraced by His love. This assurance gives us peace, knowing that we are never alone.


5. Embracing Our Identity in Christ  

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)  

Understanding who we are in God’s eyes can transform how we view ourselves. We are not accidents or mere beings drifting through life. We are intentionally crafted, fearfully and wonderfully made by God. This truth brings self-worth and confidence.


6. Drawing Inner Strength from God

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” (Ephesians 3:16)  

No matter how tough life gets, we can draw strength from God’s Spirit. He empowers us from within, enabling us to face challenges, love others, and live out our purpose. This inner strength is a gift, freely given from God’s abundance.



These verses collectively remind us to live in faith, showing kindness even to those who oppose us, and to trust in God's strength and love. They encourage us to be joyful and steadfast in hope, praising God for His wonderful works. Above all, they affirm our identity as beloved creations, beautifully and wonderfully made, with God’s presence within us. 


May these reflections inspire you to embrace God’s Word daily, finding strength, peace, and purpose in every step of your journey.
